  • HCC Volleyball Team to host Hometown Heroes Night

    HCC's Women’s Hawk Volleyball Team will host a fundraising event to benefit hometown hero, Ron (Spoonie) Spoonire on Friday, Oct. 18, at 6 p.m., at the Athletic, Recreation and Community Center (ARCC) on campus. Admission to the game is by donation. Catering will be provided by Mission BBQ of Hagerstown. Veteran and active military, as well as police, firefighters, and paramedics will eat for free with ID proof of service. Food and drink combos available for all others at $10. 

  • HCC to host Leadercast Women 2019

    Hagerstown Community College, in partnership with Worx Graphic Design, will host a one-day leadership event, entitled “Leadercast Women 2019: Unique Leadership Development Event for Inspiration and Networking,” on Friday, October 18, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the Behavioral Science and Humanities Building on HCC’s main campus. 

  • HCC students to perform An Evening of One-Acts

    Students in Hagerstown Community College’s elements of dramatic production class will perform two one-act plays in the Kepler Black Box Theater at HCC on Oct. 25 and Oct. 26 at 8 p.m. “Trifles,” by Susan Glaspell, is a murder mystery play seen as an early example of a feminist drama. “The Sandbox,” by Edward Albee, is a satire based on false values and the lack of love and empathy in the American family. 

  • Foundation scholarships available for HCC students

    The College Advancement Office at HCC is now accepting applications for scholarships offered through the HCC Foundation. The deadline for the spring semester is Sunday, December 1, 2019. To be considered, students must complete the 2019-2020 FAFSA and be registered for spring 2020 classes. 

  • HCC student named as Good Scholarship recipient

    Sydney Gose of Greencastle, Pa., has been named the first female recipient of the Sgt. Richard H. Good Scholarship at Hagerstown Community College. Gose, who is studying administration of justice, is receiving $2,000 to cover tuition expenses for the fall of 2019 and spring of 2020. 

  • HCC to host college fair on October 9

    The 2019 Washington County College Fair will be held on Wednesday, October 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Athletic, Recreation and Community Center at HCC.

  • HCC to host STEM Festival on October 12

    Hagerstown Community College will host a STEM Festival on Saturday, October 12, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., on the campus of HCC. The 2019 STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) Festival will feature science exhibits and demonstrations, hands-on activities and competitions for K-12 students, and more. 

  • HCC nursing program receives award

    The Nursing Program at Hagerstown Community College recently received an award from The Maryland Clinical Simulation Resource Consortium (MCSRC). The total amount of the award was $45,269.

  • HCC receives $2,500 from Hagerstown Lions Club

    Hagerstown Community College recently received a $2,500 donation from the Hagerstown Lions Club to be used for programmatic funding for the 2019 STEM Festival. The event will be held on Saturday, October 12, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., on HCC’s main campus. The 2019 STEM Festival will include science exhibits, hands-on activities, and competitions for students in K-12.
