  • HCC to offer summer bridge program for high school students

    The STEMM Technical Middle College at HCC will offer a week-long Summer Bridge Program for area high school students interested in the STEM career field. The program is free for students grades nine through 12 and will be held June 24 to 28, Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., on HCC’s main campus.

  • HCC announces seminars for annual Flower & Garden Show

    The Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association will hold its 25th Annual Flower and Garden Show on Saturday, March 16, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, March 17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the ARCC. More than 150 vendors will take part in the show, named as one of the area’s premier events.

  • HCC to hold ESSENCE information night for high school students

    HCC will hold a special information night for students interested in HCC’s ESSENCE Early College Program on Tuesday, March 5, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., in the Career Programs Building, rooms 210 to 214. The ESSENCE Program allows students to earn college credit while still attending high school. 

  • HCC students awarded Home Builders Association athletic scholarships

    HCC students Katie Kriner, Chloe Hadley, and Madeline Miller, all of Hagerstown, were recently awarded athletic scholarships from the Home Builders Association of Washington County, Inc. (HBAWC). The HBAWC scholarship was established in April of 1998 and is an endowed scholarship donated from the proceeds of the home shows held in the Athletic, Recreation and Community Center (ARCC) on HCC’s main campus. 

  • Registration now open for HCC’s College for Kids summer program

    HCC will begin another summer of College for Kids programming on June 17. Registration is now open for week-long courses that cover a variety of exciting subjects for students in elementary grades through high school. Of the nearly 100 camps offered, more than 25 are new this summer. Camps are led by highly qualified instructors in small class settings with an emphasis on hands-on, interactive learning experiences. 

  • Gymkana Troupe to perform at HCC on March 1

    Hagerstown Community College will host the University of Maryland Gymkana Troupe on Friday, March 1, beginning at 7 p.m., in the college’s Athletic, Recreation and Community Center (ARCC). Well known for its high energy performances, Gymkana Troupe performs both men’s and women’s gymnastic apparatus routines, as well as novelty circus acts that incorporate the use of chairs, ladders, and trampolines. 

  • Vendors wanted for HCC’s annual Flower & Garden Show

    The Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association is currently seeking vendors and exhibitors for its 25th Annual Flower & Garden Show, which will be held on Saturday, March 16, and Sunday, March 17, at the college’s Athletic, Recreation and Community Center (ARCC). 

  • Schwartz published on political science website

    Hagerstown Community College political science instructor Eric Schwartz recently had a scholarly article published on the website, PoliticalScienceNow.com, a site maintained by the American Political Science Association, to cover people, research, and news in political science.
