HCC recently recognized five of its outstanding adjunct faculty members for 2018. Doug Courter, who has been an adjunct instructor for the Technology and Computer Studies Division for sixteen years, has been recognized as the 2018 Outstanding Adjunct Faculty member of the year.
The HCC Alumni Association recently named Gracie and Eddie Wiley as Outstanding Alumni of the Year during the college’s Honors Convocation. HCC Alumni Association President Linda Reid presented the award in recognition of the Wiley’s meritorious unpaid service to Hagerstown Community College and the Alumni Association, as well service to the community.
Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), the national honor society at Hagerstown Community College, recently accepted 70 new members. To be eligible for PTK, students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher and must have completed 12 credit hours of college-level work at HCC.
Hagerstown Community College recently announced its dean’s list for the spring 2019 semester. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must be attending school full-time (12 credits or more of college-level courses, 101 and above) and earn a minimum quality-point average of 3.50 for the most recent semester.
The 2019 graduates of the Health Sciences Division at Hagerstown Community College were honored at a pinning ceremony on May 11. Dental assisting, dental hygiene, medical assisting, paramedic, pharmacy technician, and radiography were among the program areas included in this year’s ceremony.
Hagerstown Community College recently held a nurse pinning ceremony to recognize graduates of its spring 2019 nursing class, inlcuding the associate degree nursing program and the practical nursing certificate program.
Women’s softball camp will be offered at Hagerstown Community College this summer, for students ages seven to 12. Developmental camp will be held from Monday, July 8 to Thursday, July 11, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., on HCC’s main campus. Additionally, a prospect camp will be held on Friday, July 12.
Women’s soccer camp will be offered at Hagerstown Community College this summer, for students in middle or high school, born on or before 2006. Camp will be held from Monday, July 8, to Friday, July 12, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., on HCC’s main campus.
Volleyball camp will be offered at Hagerstown Community College this summer, for students in grades four through 12. Camp will be held Monday, July 22, through Thursday, July 25 in the ARCC at HCC.
HCC recently held its 17th annual Honors Convocation. The event recognized special awards, graduation honors, dean’s list honors, Phi Theta Kappa membership, Educators Rising Honor Society, and TRiO Support Services awards.
