  • HCC to offer info sessions for dental hygiene program

    Free information sessions will be held this fall for those who want to learn more about the dental hygiene program at Hagerstown Community College. The first session will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 23, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., in the Career Programs Building, room 122. The second session will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 1, from 1:30 to 3 p.m., in the Career Programs Building, room 131. 

  • HCC Middle College to hold info sessions

    Program information sessions for the STEMM (science, technology, engineering, math, medical) Technical Middle College at Hagerstown Community College will be held on Wed., Sept. 16, from 4 to 6 p.m., in the STEM Building, room 409, and Wed., Oct. 14, from 6 to 8 p.m., during the 2015 Washington County College Fair, at HCC’s Athletic, Recreation and Community Center (ARCC).

  • HCC to hold 9/11 remembrance event

    The Hagerstown Community College Veterans Club and Student Government Association will hold a 9/11 remembrance event on Friday, September 11, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the new Student Center.

  • U.S. Navy Cruisers to perform Sept. 13 at HCC

    The Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association will host the U.S. Navy Cruisers as its final concert of the 11th annual Red, White and Blue Concert Series, on Sunday, Sept. 13, at 6:15 p.m., in HCC’s Alumni Amphitheater.

  • 2015 Hub City Teen Writers contest winners announced

    (August 28, 2015) As part of the third annual Mid-Atlantic Fiction Writers Institute (MAFWI) at Hagerstown Community College, HCC offered a special weekend writing institute for teen writers between the ages of 13 and 19. The Hub City Teen Writers Institute, formerly the Nora Roberts Young Writers Institute, was held from Aug.7 through Aug. 9, the same weekend as MAFWI, and featured a series of workshops and events specially geared towards aspiring fiction writers and poets.

  • Police Academy now accepting applications

    Applications are now being accepted for the next class of the Hagerstown Community College Police Academy. The class starts January 11, 2016, and runs through June 24, 2016. The application deadline for November decision is Sept. 30, 2015, and the final deadline is Oct. 30, 2015.

    The English Club will meet on October 7 from 4 to 5 p.m. in the Student Center conference room.

    HCC’s Spectrum Club (LGBT Support) will meet every Thursday from 4 - 5 p.m. in the Student Center Conference Room.

    The Spectrum Club consists of students who are open to and accepting of all identities. The primary goal is to create a safe environment for students who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, questioning, and straight allies.

  • Family Book Club

    HCC students are invited to spend time with their preschool/early elementary age child(ren) during HCC’s new Family Book Club, which will meet the second Saturday of each month.

    For October, the book is “Spookly the Square Pumpkin.” Families will get to listen to the story together, complete a craft, and enjoy a snack.
