  • HCC honors GED and EDP graduates

    HCC recently held its annual adult education commencement ceremony. Student speakers at the event included Luz Herrera, of Hagerstown, to represent the English as a Second Language (ESL) and General Equivalency Development (GED) program, and Marsha Pierle, of Hagerstown, who represented the GED program. 

  • HCC accepts 69 new members into Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society

    Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), the national honor society at Hagerstown Community College, recently accepted 69 new members. To be eligible for PTK, students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher and must have completed 12 credit hours of college-level work at HCC. 

  • HCC student awarded Maryland Law Enforcement Scholarship

    Hagerstown Community College student Jentel Jordan, of Boonsboro, was recently awarded a scholarship from the Maryland Law Enforcement Officers, Inc. Maryland Law Enforcement Officers is a professional non-profit organization headquartered in Baltimore. The scholarship was established for Maryland students in good academic standing who are planning a career in law enforcement and have financial need. 

  • HCC Middle College to hold info sessions

    Program information sessions for the STEMM (science, technology, engineering, math, medical) Technical Middle College at Hagerstown Community College will be held on Wednesdays, May 30 and June 20, at 4 p.m., in the Learning Resource Center, room 254. 

  • HCC to offer free advanced manufacturing summer institute for high school students and graduates

    HCC will offer an eight-week Advanced Manufacturing Institute this summer for area high school students and graduates. This competitive program provides three college credits at the completion of the summer program. Funding from the National Science Foundation allows students to attend the institute for free. It will be held from June 11 to Aug. 8, on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 1 to 3:45 p.m., and Tuesday and Thursdays, from 1 to 3:45 p.m., on HCC’s main campus. 

  • HCC to offer cybersecurity summer institute for high school students and graduates

    Hagerstown Community College will offer a Cybersecurity Institute this summer for area high school students and 2018 graduates. This competitive seven-week program provides three college credits at the completion of the summer program. It will be held from June 6 to August 18, on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., and Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., on HCC’s main campus. 

  • Volleyball camp offered at HCC this summer

    Volleyball camp will be offered at Hagerstown Community College this summer, for students in grades five through 12. Camp will be held Monday, July 30, through Thursday, August 2, from 5 to 8 p.m. each day in the ARCC at HCC.
