  • HCC students complete job training

    During the 2017-18 academic year, 34 students from Hagerstown Community College completed internships, gaining job training at local businesses. Students from 13 different majors completed a total of 5,040 hours. Through the Internship and Job Services Office at HCC, students were placed at 27 different sites within the community, based on their major and skill sets. 

  • Industry professionals provide portfolio review to HCC design students

    Hagerstown Community College’s Technology and Computer Studies Division hosted a portfolio review earlier this spring with 18 industry professionals on HCC’s main campus. Many of the reviewers are HCC alumni. Reviewers analyzed the work of students studying graphic design, web and multimedia, and simulation and digital entertainment. Each student was required to submit a portfolio to three reviewers and participate in a mock job interview. 

  • HCC to host manufacturing conference

    Hagerstown Community College will host a one-day conference, entitled “Manufacturing 4.0: Creating a Skilled Workforce,” on Tuesday, Aug. 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., on the HCC campus. The conference is intended for regional industry professionals, educators, and students who are stakeholders in creating the new workforce. 

  • 229th Army Band to perform June 25 at HCC

    The Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association will host the 229th Army Band as part of its annual Red, White and Blue Summer Concert Series, on Monday, June 25, at 6:15 p.m., in HCC’s Alumni Amphitheater. A traditional military band that features five ensembles, the 229th U.S. Army Band has been part of the Maryland National Guard for most of the 20th century and is one of the few military bands to have received battle honors.

  • U.S. Navy Sea Chanters to perform June 23 at HCC

    The Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association will host the U.S. Navy Sea Chanters as part of its annual Red, White and Blue Summer Concert Series, on Saturday, June 23, at 6:15 p.m., in HCC’s Alumni Amphitheater. The U.S. Navy Sea Chanters is the official chorus of the United States Navy. Under the direction of Senior Chief Musician Adam Tyler, the group performs a variety of music, including choral arrangements and Broadway show tunes, and travels throughout the United States, often appearing at state and national events. 

  • U.S. Air Force Heritage Brass Ensemble to perform June 9 at HCC

     The Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association will host the U.S. Air Force Heritage Brass Ensemble as part of its annual Red, White and Blue Concert Series, on Sat., June 9, at 6:15 p.m., in HCC’s Alumni Amphitheater. Known for both its exhilarating and intimate programs, the band performs a diverse repertoire featuring orchestral transcriptions, patriotic favorites, jazz standards, new compositions, and distinctive arrangements.

  • HCC’s Robinwood Players Theater Club hosted day of theater

    The Robinwood Players Theater Club at Hagerstown Community College hosted a day of theater on Saturday, May 5, in the Kepler Center on HCC’s main campus. The day of theater included workshops and presentations open to HCC students and local high school juniors and seniors.

  • Klauber becomes HCC's fourth president

    Dr. Jim Klauber began on June 1 as HCC’s fourth president. He comes to HCC from John C. Calhoun State Community College in Alabama, where he had been serving as the president since 2015.

  • Aromatherapy course to be offered in June

    The Continuing Education and Workforce Development Division at HCC will offer an Introduction to Aromatherapy course on Tuesday evenings, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., beginning June 12 at the Valley Mall in Hagerstown. 


  • Fall Transfer Fair

    The Fall Transfer Fair will be held Thursday, October 11, 2018, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Main Dining Room of the Student Center.

  • Leadercast Women

    Leadercast Women features top female leaders who are powered by purpose. In this simulcast event, leaders share their thoughts, ideas, and experiences on applying your value, maximizing your skills and empowering you to become a Leader Worth Following. The conference will be held on Friday, October 12, 2018 in the Career Programs Building in rooms 211 & 213.

  • Alumni & Friends Golf Tournament

    The 26th annual Alumni and Friends golf tournament will be held at Black Rock Golf Course on Friday, October 12, 2018 with a 12 p.m. shotgun start. The cost is $100 per person.

    Download and print the registration form and return it to the HCC Alumni Office. Registration is due by August 17, 2018.

    Randy Scott, Owner and Operator of Chick-fil-A restaurant and franchise in Hagerstown, MD, will present the advantages and disadvantages of owning a franchise.

  • Business Club Etiquette Dinner

    The Etiquette Dinner will be held at the Fountain Head Country Club in Hagerstown, MD. Dianne Cookson will be the instructor teaching the proper etiquette for a business dinner situation. The event will be limited to 30 participants with a $5 co-pay.
