  • HCC receives district award for website

    (Release: October 15, 2014) – Hagerstown Community College recently received the NCMPR District 1 Gold Medallion Award in the website category. The National Council for Marketing and Public Relations is the leading professional development organization exclusively serving marketing and public relations professionals at two-year colleges.

  • Preparing for Middle States

    Dr. Peter Mora, president, Atlantic Cape Community College and the Middle States team chair, visited the HCC campus for a preliminary visit on Oct. 13-14, 2014. While at HCC, Mora toured the campus, met with staff and faculty to discuss the Middle States process, and sat in a Unit Planning meeting. Dr. Mora will return with the Middle States team in April 2015.

  • Special Saturday Hours - Jan. 10

    On Saturday, Jan. 10, various campus offices in the Administration and Student Affairs (ASA) Building will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to help students register for the upcoming spring semester, which starts on Monday, Jan. 12, 2015.

  • HCC to host Western Maryland Technology Showcase

    (Release: October 9, 2014) – The Fort Detrick Alliance will hold its Western Maryland Technology Showcase at Hagerstown Community College’s Technical Innovation Center (TIC) on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014, from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

  • HCC launches 2014 edition of the Hedge Apple

    (Release: October 7, 2014)— Hagerstown Community College will hold a launch party for the most recent publication of its literary arts magazine, the Hedge Apple, on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2014, beginning at 5 p.m., in the Career Programs Building, rooms 210-212, on HCC’s main campus.

  • Events on Campus - Oct. 13-18

    During the week of October 13-18, a variety of events will be held on the HCC campus for students, staff/faculty, and the public. Special events this week include the annual Washington County College Fair, the annual BCA-CV Step 'n Stride, and the release party for Hedge Apple magazine.

  • LSC Writing Workshops - Oct. 21-25

    During the month of October, HCC's Learning Support Center will offer a series of workshops on how to properly cite sources in a research paper. Workshops will be held from Oct. 21 through Oct. 25, 2014,  and are open to all currently enrolled credit students.

  • Tobacco-Free Workshops - Now through Nov. 5

    The Washington County Health Department will offer a series of free "Tobacco Free for Life" workshops in October and November. All workshops will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Student Center.

  • Turkey Trot - Nov. 27

    HCC, in partnership with local food banks, will hold its 14th Annual Turkey Trot on Thursday, Nov. 27, 2014, beginning at 8:30 a.m., at the ARCC. Open to the public.

  • Spring 2015 Graduation Deadline

    Applications for spring 2015 graduation are due March 1. All students should complete an online “Application for Graduation” through WebAdvisor to receive a degree, certificate, or letter of recognition regardless of their participation in the graduation ceremony.

    Lights, Camera, BLOOM!

    Join HCC in seeing the 186th Philadelphia Flower Show on Monday, March 2, 2015.

    The Show features large-scale gardens, elaborate landscapes, and over-the-top floral creations.

  • STEMM Technical Middle College Program Information Session

    Program information session for the STEMM (science, technology, engineering, math, medical) Technical Middle College at Hagerstown Community College will be held on Wednesday, March 4, from 4 to 6 p.m., in the STEM Building, room 407.

  • Spring Break 2015 - No Classes Held

    Spring Break will be held for faculty and students from March 8 through March 14, 2015. No classes will be held during that time.

    Administrative offices will remain open from March 9 through March 12 of that week, but will close for staff spring break on March 13. The entire campus will be closed on March 13, 2015.
