(Release: February 20, 2015)— The Nora Roberts Writing institute (NRWI) at Hagerstown Community College was recently renamed the Mid-Atlantic Fiction Writers Institute.
Held every summer on the campus of HCC, NRWI's first two years featured comprehensive weekend writing retreats with sessions taught by bestselling authors and college faculty.
The WCPS Math and Engineering Career Day, originally scheduled for Friday, Feb. 20, has been postponed. The event will be rescheduled at a later date. In addition, the S-STEM seminar, originally scheduled for the morning of Feb. 20, has been canceled and will not meet this week.
(Release: February 19, 2015)— Applications are now being accepted for the next class of the Hagerstown Community College Police Academy. The class starts July 6 and runs through December 18, 2015. The application deadline is May 1, 2015.
HCC will host the University of Maryland Gymkana Troupe on Friday, March 6, beginning at 7 p.m., in the ARCC. Free and open to the public. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
HCC is hosting a free informational session on pharmacy careers on Monday, Feb. 23, from 5 to 6 p.m., in the STEM Building, room 507. Free and open to all students.

Auditions for the upcoming Robinwood Players Variety Show will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 18, from 5 to 7 p.m., and on Thursday, Feb. 19, from 4 to 6 p.m., in the Kepler Theater.
Student Valentine's Dance on Friday, Feb. 20, from 8 p.m. to midnight, in the ARCC lobby. Admission is free with a valid student ID. Each student can bring one guest, age 16 or older.
