  • HCC Trustee Williamson elected to state committee

    Hagerstown Community College Board Trustee John Williamson was recently elected to serve on the Executive Committee of the Maryland Association of Community Colleges (MACC). The core mission of Maryland’s 16 community colleges is to provide affordable opportunities to all residents who desire and can benefit from higher education.

  • HCC Foundation announces tribute proceeds

    The net proceeds from the Hagerstown Community College Foundation’s 17th Annual Tribute, held in April, total more than $237,000, to benefit HCC student scholarships. The event, which had 500 attendees, honored HCC students and was hosted by Mellott Company. 

  • HCC Middle College to hold info sessions

    Program information sessions for the STEMM (science, technology, engineering, math, medical) Technical Middle College at Hagerstown Community College will be held on Thurs., July 14, and Wed., Aug. 10, at 4 p.m., in the STEM Building, room 409. All students and parents who are interested in learning more about the HCC STEMM Technical Middle College are encouraged to attend one of these free information sessions.

  • U.S. Navy Commodores to perform July 8 at HCC

    The Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association will host the U.S. Navy Commodores as part of its annual Red, White and Blue Summer Concert Series, on Friday, July 8, at 6:15 p.m., in HCC’s Alumni Amphitheater. 

  • Air National Guard Band of the Northeast to perform June 23 at HCC

    The Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association will host the Air National Guard Band of the Northeast as part of its annual Red, White and Blue Summer Concert Series, on Thursday, June 23, at 6:15 p.m., at HCC’s Alumni Amphitheater. The band will present an exciting concert of brass quintet favorites, “Concert Band and High Altitude,” featuring a variety of classical, jazz, popular music, marches, and show tunes arranged for the brass quintet. 

  • 229th Army Band to perform June 26 at HCC

    The Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association will host the 229th Army Band as part of its annual Red, White and Blue Summer Concert Series, on Sunday, June 26, at 6:15 p.m., in HCC’s Alumni Amphitheater. A traditional military band that features five ensembles, the 229th U.S. Army Band has been part of the Maryland National Guard for most of the 20th century and is one of the few military bands to have received battle honors.

  • Newly approved biological/physical science general education course

    Hagerstown Community College’s academic affairs division recently approved Kitchen Chemistry (CHM-107/107L) as a biological/physical science general education requirement. Intended for the non-major, this course introduces the fundamental concepts of inorganic and organic chemistry through the perspective of food and cooking.

  • Athletic Boosters Corn Hole Tournament

    The HCC Athletic Boosters will hold its second annual Corn Hole Tournament on October 29 in the ARCC. Proceeds benefit the HCC Hawk Athletic Booster Club.

Admission is free and open to the public and all HCC students, faculty, and staff, but tickets are required for entry.
