Hagerstown Community College’s Robinwood Players will perform William Shakespeare’s classic tragedy, “Macbeth,” Thursday, August 4, through Sunday, August 7, in the Kepler Theater on HCC’s main campus. Hagerstown Community College graduate Madeline Harmon, of Mercersburg, Pa., was recently accepted into the Disney College Program at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, from May 23, 2016 to January 5, 2017.

JLG Industries, Inc., recently sponsored a week-long engineering course at Hagerstown Community College for girls entering grades six through eight. With a gift of $3,450, JLG covered the tuition for the 13 girls who applied for and participated in the class, entitled “Girls Exploring Engineering.”
To better serve future and current students, Hagerstown Community College is now offering extended hours in Student Affairs, Monday through Thursday, from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Friday hours will remain 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Continuing Education and Workforce Development Division at Hagerstown Community College recently awarded the American Management Association Certificate of General and Human Resource Management to three Washington County Public Schools staff members.
The Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association will host a preview of “HCC’s 2017 HCC Alumni and Friends Cruise,” on Saturday, July 9, at 10 a.m., in the Learning Resource Center (LRC), room 348, on HCC’s main campus.
Hagerstown Community College Board Trustee John Williamson was recently elected to serve on the Executive Committee of the Maryland Association of Community Colleges (MACC). The core mission of Maryland’s 16 community colleges is to provide affordable opportunities to all residents who desire and can benefit from higher education.
The net proceeds from the Hagerstown Community College Foundation’s 17th Annual Tribute, held in April, total more than $237,000, to benefit HCC student scholarships. The event, which had 500 attendees, honored HCC students and was hosted by Mellott Company.
Program information sessions for the STEMM (science, technology, engineering, math, medical) Technical Middle College at Hagerstown Community College will be held on Thurs., July 14, and Wed., Aug. 10, at 4 p.m., in the STEM Building, room 409. All students and parents who are interested in learning more about the HCC STEMM Technical Middle College are encouraged to attend one of these free information sessions.
