  • Biotech Summer Institute Deadline - March 31

    (March 12, 2014) - Hagerstown Community College will hold its sixth annual Biotechnology Summer Institute (BSI) for high school students. The 2014 BSI will offer a unique learning opportunity for students who are interested in advancing their education in a field related to science, healthcare, engineering, or biotechnology.

  • Young Writers Institute - August 9-10

    (March 12, 2014) - As part of the second annual Nora Roberts Writing Institute (NRWI) at Hagerstown Community College, HCC will also offer a special Young Writers Institute for teen writers between the ages of 13 and 19.

  • Student Casting Call - March 25-27

    (March 12, 2014) - The HCC Public Information Office will hold its annual casting call for student models from March 25 through March 27, 2014, in the Student Center. Students of all ages are encouraged to participate.

  • BSU Poetry Slam - March 22

    (March 11, 2014) - HCC's Black Student Union (BSU) will hold a Poetry Slam on Saturday, March 22, 2014, from 1 to 3 p.m., in the Behavioral Sciences and Humanities Building auditorium, room 114.

  • HCC Police Academy accepting applications

    (March 10, 2014) - Applications are now being accepted for the next class of the Hagerstown Community College Police Academy. The class starts July 1, 2014, and runs through December 2014. The application deadline is Thursday, May 1, 2014.

  • Summer Job Fair - March 20

    (March 5, 2014) - The HCC Internship and Job Services Office and the Student Government Association (SGA) will hold a summer job fair on Thursday, March 20, 2014, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Student Center.

    Several area employers will be on-site to meet with students. The event will feature free food and giveaways. Employers attending include:

  • Christopher James performs March 4

    (February 28, 2014) - In honor of Irish American Heritage Month, folk artist Christopher James will perform a mix of ballads and work, love, and pub songs on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon, in the Student Center.

  • HCC to offer one-day Civil War seminar

    (February 25, 2014) - The Continuing Education and Community Services Division at Hagerstown Community College will offer a one-day Civil War seminar on Sat., March 29, 2014, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Elliott Center on the main HCC campus. The seminar is being offered as part of the 150th commemoration of the Civil War.


  • Garden Pride Day

    In honor of Earth Day, HCC will hold its annual Garden Pride Day on Wednesday, April 23, 2014. Students, staff, and faculty are encouraged to participate in helping get HCC's campus ready for spring. Participants can sign up for one of two shifts:

  • Kreykenbohm Lecture - Toby Mendez

    Hagerstown Community College will present its annual Kreykenbohm lecture series on Wednesday, April 30, beginning at 7 p.m., in the Kepler Center on HCC’s main campus.

    This year’s lecture will feature Maryland-based sculptor Toby Mendez, who specializes in creating classical figure sculptures with a contemporary edge. The event is free and is open to the public.

  • Student Art Show Opening Reception

    An opening reception will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2014. The reception will be held the same night as HCC’s annual Kreykenbohm lecture featuring Maryland-based sculptor Toby Mendez. The reception will begin at 5 p.m., and the lecture will follow at 7 p.m. Both events are free and open to the public.

  • Spring Student Art Show

    Hagerstown Community College will hold its annual spring student art exhibit from Monday, April 28, through Tuesday, May 6, 2014, in the Kepler Center. The spring student art exhibit will feature a variety of artwork including painting, drawing, sculpture, jewelry, ceramics, and photography. The art exhibit will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through May 6.

  • Summer Internship Deadline

    The deadline to apply for an internship for the summer 2014 semester is Sunday, April 13. In order to be eligible for an internship, students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher and must have completed at least half of their program requirements.

  • Book Buyback

    Book Buyback for the spring 2014 semester will be held from April 30 through May 9.  Only books purchased through the HCC Campus Store (Bookstore) may be sold back during the buyback period.

    Program information session for the STEMM (science, technology, engineering, math, medical) Technical Middle College at Hagerstown Community College will be held on Thursday, April 24, from 4 to 6 p.m., in the STEM Building, room 506.
