  • Young Writers Institute - August 9-10

    (March 12, 2014) - As part of the second annual Nora Roberts Writing Institute (NRWI) at Hagerstown Community College, HCC will also offer a special Young Writers Institute for teen writers between the ages of 13 and 19.

  • BSU Poetry Slam - March 22

    (March 11, 2014) - HCC's Black Student Union (BSU) will hold a Poetry Slam on Saturday, March 22, 2014, from 1 to 3 p.m., in the Behavioral Sciences and Humanities Building auditorium, room 114.

  • HCC Police Academy accepting applications

    (March 10, 2014) - Applications are now being accepted for the next class of the Hagerstown Community College Police Academy. The class starts July 1, 2014, and runs through December 2014. The application deadline is Thursday, May 1, 2014.

  • Summer Job Fair - March 20

    (March 5, 2014) - The HCC Internship and Job Services Office and the Student Government Association (SGA) will hold a summer job fair on Thursday, March 20, 2014, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Student Center.

    Several area employers will be on-site to meet with students. The event will feature free food and giveaways. Employers attending include:

  • Christopher James performs March 4

    (February 28, 2014) - In honor of Irish American Heritage Month, folk artist Christopher James will perform a mix of ballads and work, love, and pub songs on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon, in the Student Center.

  • HCC to offer one-day Civil War seminar

    (February 25, 2014) - The Continuing Education and Community Services Division at Hagerstown Community College will offer a one-day Civil War seminar on Sat., March 29, 2014, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Elliott Center on the main HCC campus. The seminar is being offered as part of the 150th commemoration of the Civil War.
                   

  • High School Senior Info Night - March 12

    (February 25, 2014) - Hagerstown Community College will hold a special information night for graduating high school seniors on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at 6:30 p.m., in the Elliott Center on HCC’s main campus.

    (February 25, 2014) - Hagerstown Community College will hold a special information night for students interested in HCC’s ESSENCE Program on Monday, March 10, 2014, at 6:30 p.m., in the Elliott Center on HCC’s main campus.

  • Financial Aid to communicate using student email addresses

    (February 24, 2014) - For the upcoming academic year, the Financial Aid Office will only send emailed correspondences to student email addresses. No personal email addresses will be used. If you apply for Financial Aid by completing a 2014-2015 FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), be sure to check your student email address for important information, including:

  • Teen Idol 2014

    Several HCC students will be competing in Teen Idol 2014, a singing competition sponsored by the Washington County Free Library, Maryland Theatre and After Five Productions. This event  fosters a deep appreciation for musical talent in our area and promotes teen programs at the library. It is a great honor to be selected and the winner will receive a $1,000 prize.

  • 2014 Nora Roberts Writing Institute

    Second Annual Nora Roberts Writing Institute for fiction writers. The annual NRWI summer conference offers workshops and breakout sessions by bestselling authors, college faculty, and experienced public relations professionals. From story fundamentals like plot and point of view to seasoned advice on how to market your work, there is something for writers of every genre at NRWI.

  • PTK Soda Can Fundraiser

    Go through a lot of soda cans? HCC’s Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society is collecting aluminum tabs to benefit the Ronald McDonald House. Drop off your tabs to Ashley Whaley in the Administration and Student Affairs (ASA) Building, room 601, or at the Student Center Information Desk. Tabs will be collected through March 25, 2014.
