  • Hub City Teen Writers Institute offered this summer at HCC

    As part of the fourth annual Mid-Atlantic Fiction Writers Institute (MAFWI) at Hagerstown Community College, HCC will also offer a special two-day writing institute for teen writers between the ages of 13 and 19. The Hub City Teen Writers Institute, will be held on Friday, Aug.12, and Saturday, Aug. 13, the same weekend as MAFWI, and will feature a series of workshops and events specially geared towards aspiring fiction writers and poets.

  • Police Academy now accepting applications

    Applications are now being accepted for the next class of the Hagerstown Community College Police Academy. The class starts July 5, 2016, and runs through December 16, 2016. The application deadline for April decision is March 31, and the final deadline is April 30. 

  • HCC to hold annual Flower & Garden Show March 12 &13

    The Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association will hold its 22nd Annual Flower & Garden Show on Saturday, March 12, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, March 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the ARCC. A variety of vendors will take part in the show, named as one of the area’s premier events. 

  • 2016-2017 FAFSA Maryland Aid Deadline is March 1

    Hagerstown Community College will offer a FAFSA Lab on Monday, February 29, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the Learning Resource Center (LRC), room 208. The lab will allow students to get help in completing the FAFSA. For more information, call HCC’s Student Financial Aid Office at 240-500-2473.

  • HCC to host worldwide chamber music play-in event

    Hagerstown Community College’s music department will host the annual Associated Chamber Music Players (ACMP) Worldwide Play-In Weekend on Saturday, March 5, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the Kepler Center on campus. The event is free and open to people of all ages and abilities who wish to share and play chamber music. 

  • Gymkana Troupe to perform at HCC on March 4

    Hagerstown Community College will host the University of Maryland Gymkana Troupe on Friday, March 4, beginning at 7 p.m., in the college’s Athletic, Recreation and Community Center (ARCC). Well-known for its high energy performances, Gymkana Troupe performs both men’s and women’s gymnastic apparatus routines, as well as novelty circus acts that incorporate the use of chairs, ladders, and trampolines. 

  • HCC to host Region XX Division I & Division II Men’s Basketball Tournament in February

    Hagerstown Community College will host the Region XX Division I and Division II Men’s Basketball Tournament on Friday, Feb.26; Saturday, Feb. 27; and Sunday, Feb. 28; at the Athletic, Recreation and Community Center (ARCC) on campus. The tournament is open to the public and will include men’s basketball teams from Maryland, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. 

  • HCC Middle College to hold info sessions

    Program information sessions for the STEMM (science, technology, engineering, math, medical) Technical Middle College at Hagerstown Community College will be held on Tues., March 1; Wed., March 23; Wed., April 6; and Wed., April 20, from 4 to 6 p.m., in the STEM Building, room 409. 

  • Still time to register for spring classes

    Hagerstown Community College is offering late start spring 2016 classes that begin in March. The second seven-and-a-half week class session begins March 14, and students can register until March 16. The third five-week class session begins March 29, and students can register until March 31.
