  • HCC literary magazine accepting submissions worldwide

    Hagerstown Community College’s literary magazine, the Hedge Apple, is no longer limited to submissions from HCC students and faculty. Contributors worldwide are encouraged to submit stories, poems, and artwork, as well as video, audio, and mixed media submissions. In addition to being open for general submissions on a rolling basis, submissions are now being accepted for upcoming themed issues.

  • HCC’s Robinwood Players Theater Club awards scholarship

    Hagerstown Community College’s Robinwood Players Theater Club recently awarded its club scholarship to member Heather Wallen, of Hagerstown. The scholarships are given to students who demonstrate dedication to the club, as well as academic achievement and interest in the performing arts field. 

  • Golden ticket to provide $100 towards continuing education course

     A handful of local residents will receive a golden ticket inside their continuing education spring and summer course schedule. The golden ticket is good for $100 towards a continuing education course this spring or summer at HCC, including College for Kids summer camps.

  • Registration now open for HCC’s College for Kids summer program

    Hagerstown Community College will begin another summer of College for Kids programming on June 18. Registration is now open for week-long courses that cover a variety of exciting subjects for students in elementary through high school. Of the nearly 100 camps offered, more than 20 are new this summer. 

  • HCC Foundation awards athletic scholarships

    The Hagerstown Community College Foundation recently awarded four $312.50 scholarships to the top four sophomore athletes with the highest GPA during the fall 2017 semester.

  • Two HCC students nominated for All-USA Academic Team

    Two Hagerstown Community College students were recently nominated as part of the All-USA/Coca-Cola Community College Academic Team, a program that annually recognizes exceptional students at the nation’s community colleges. This year’s HCC nominees are Jenna Ebersole and Danielle Shelow. 

  • HCC students accepted to Disney College Program in Orlando

    Hagerstown Community College students Paola Torres, of Smithsburg, and Ryanne Stevenson, of Berryville, Va., were recently accepted into the spring 2018 Disney College Program at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, as character performers. 

  • HCC Robotics Club to host skills challenge

    The Hagerstown Community College Robotics Club will host a Vex Robotics Competition (skills only) for area high school students, on Saturday, Feb. 17, from 4 to 8 p.m., in HCC’s Athletic, Recreation and Community Center.

    Thanksgiving Break begins on Wednesday, Nov. 21, at 12 p.m. HCC closes at noon and will remain closed on Nov. 22 and 23. No classes will be held and administrative offices will be closed during this time.
