HCC will hold special information sessions for students interested in HCC’s ESSENCE Early College Program on Tuesday, March 10 at 5 p.m.; Friday, April 10 at 10 a.m.; and Tuesday, April 28 at 1 p.m., in the Career Programs Building, rooms 212 to 214. The information sessions are geared towards high school students who plan to enroll in the ESSENCE Program for the upcoming 2020-2021 academic year.
HCC's Robinwood Players Theater Club will host a variety show on Friday, Feb. 28, beginning at 7 p.m., in the Black Box Theater in the Kepler Center. The show will feature students performing a diverse array of talents including dancing, singing, musical performances, and more.
HCC will begin another summer of College for Kids programming on June 15. Registration is now open for week-long courses that cover a variety of exciting subjects for students entering second through 12th grades. Of the nearly 90 camps offered, more than 25 are new this summer.
The HCC Foundation recently received a $25,000 donation from Dr. Ronald and Mrs. Cathy Keyser, of Hagerstown, to endow their second named scholarship. The scholarship is open to students that are residents of Washington County, have a 3.0 GPA or higher, have a financial need, and are studying business related majors.
The Workforce Solutions and Continuing Education Division at HCC will hold an open house to highlight skilled careers, on Wed., March 11, from 4 to 7 p.m., at HCC’s Valley Mall Center. Information will be available about short-term training programs and scholarship/grants are available for tuition assistance.
The Registered Nursing Program at Hagerstown Community College has been ranked number four of 536 associate degree nursing programs in the Northeast, by NursingProcess.org. More than 2,726 nursing schools across the country were ranked in five regions across the country. The ranking was based on four factors - academic quality, NCLEX-RN pass rates, the nursing school’s reputation, and affordability.
Hagerstown Community College will offer a Transcribe-a-thon, in honor of Frederick Douglass Day and Black History Month, on Friday, Feb. 14, from 12 to 3 p.m., in the Learning Resource Center, room 259.
The Hagerstown Community College Alumni Association is currently seeking vendors and exhibitors for its 26th Annual Flower & Garden Show, which will be held on Saturday, March 14, and Sunday, March 15, at the college’s Athletic, Recreation and Community Center (ARCC).
The STEMM Technical Middle College (STMC) at Hagerstown Community College is now accepting applications for the fall 2020 class, with a priority deadline of March 1.
Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), the national honor society at Hagerstown Community College, recently accepted 53 new members. To be eligible for PTK, students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher and must have completed 12 credit hours of college-level work at HCC.
