  • HCC receives $48,000 grant from Maryland DLLR

    HCC has received a $48,000 grant from the Maryland Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation to support the growth of construction trades apprenticeship in Washington County. The grant, awarded under the state’s Apprenticeship Innovation Fund, will support the development and delivery of pre-apprenticeship training over the next year. 

  • HCC receives $15,000 from First United Bank & Trust

    The Hagerstown Community College Foundation recently received a commitment from First United Bank & Trust, for $15,000. The money will be paid over five years and will be used for a first-floor office in HCC’s Center for Business and Entrepreneurial Studies, which is currently under development on the HCC campus.

  • HCC to host Washington County Police Academy

    HCC's Continuing Education and Workforce Development Division recently signed an agreement with the Hagerstown Police Department and Washington County Sheriff’s Office to host the Washington County Police Academy (WCPA) on HCC’s main campus. The WCPA is currently accepting Maryland law enforcement agency sponsored cadets and volunteer self-sponsored applicants for its second academy beginning in November 2019. 

  • HCC Middle College to hold info sessions

    Program information sessions for the STEMM (science, technology, engineering, math, medical) Technical Middle College at Hagerstown Community College will be held on Wednesdays, April 10 and April 24, at 4 p.m., in the Learning Resource Center, room 254. 

  • HCC Softball Team to host fundraising event

    HCC's Women’s Hawk Softball Team will host a fundraising event to benefit Natalie McMaster’s fight against acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) on Monday, April 8, at 3 p.m., at the softball field on HCC’s main campus. McMaster will throw out the first pitch of the second game, and between games there will be raffles. 

  • Robinwood Players to perform “Deathtrap”

    HCC's Robinwood Players will perform Ira Levin’s hit Broadway play, “Deathtrap,” on April 12, 13, and 14, in the Kepler Theater on HCC’s main campus. Show times are 8 p.m. on Friday, April 12, and Saturday, April 13. A special matinee performance will be held on Sunday, April 14 at 2:30 p.m. 

  • HCC to hold spring faculty art exhibit in April

    HCC will hold its spring faculty art exhibit from Monday, April 1, through Friday, April 19, in the Kepler Center on HCC’s main campus. A reception will be held on Monday, April 1, from 6 to 8 p.m., which will include a lecture by HCC adjunct faculty member, Rev. Dr. Rob Apgar-Taylor. 

  • HCC to offer grants for middle school girls to attend STEM summer camps

    The College for Kids program at HCC is offering three Go Girl Power grants this summer for girls entering grades six through eight that are interested in STEM fields. The Go Girl Power grants reduces the cost of each camp to $8. Grant applications will be accepted until Sunday, March 31.

  • HCC to host annual Humanities Lecture Series

    HCC will host the annual Humanities Lecture Series on Monday, April 1, beginning at 7 p.m., in the Kepler Black Box Theater. Rev. Dr. Rob Apgar-Taylor, HCC adjunct faculty, will present about the intersecting beliefs of the Christian faith and Buddhism.


  • Business Club: Financial Literacy Series

    BB&T (now merging with Sun Trust Bank will have a new name) will present a three part financial series that includes sessions on banking basics, family budgeting, and growing your business. The series will be held in STC-182.

  • Business Club Meeting in TIC

    The new Executive Director of the Technical Innovation Center (TBD) will lead a panel discussion with small businesses from the center allowing students to learn about the issues that entrepreneurs face when starting a business.  This is always a very informative and interactive session.

  • Business Club Etiquette Dinner

    The Business Club Etiquette Dinner will be held at Fountain Head Country Club. This event will offer students the opportunity to participate in learning the skills necessary to “survive” in a business dinner event. Attendance at this event is limited to 25 participants.
