  • HCC Middle College to hold info sessions

    Program information sessions for the STEMM (science, technology, engineering, math, medical) Technical Middle College at Hagerstown Community College will be held on Wednesdays, August 8 and September 19, at 4 p.m., in the Learning Resource Center, room 254. 

  • Seats still available in fall portraiture class

    Hagerstown Community College will offer a portraiture class on Wednesday afternoons, from 1 to 4:35 p.m., beginning August 30, in the Kepler Center. The fall portraiture class is a three-credit, upper-level class for students with basic drawing skills who wish to broaden their ability to create strong visual images. 

  • Industry professionals provide portfolio review to HCC design students

    Hagerstown Community College’s Technology and Computer Studies Division hosted a portfolio review earlier this spring with 18 industry professionals on HCC’s main campus. Many of the reviewers are HCC alumni. Reviewers analyzed the work of students studying graphic design, web and multimedia, and simulation and digital entertainment. Each student was required to submit a portfolio to three reviewers and participate in a mock job interview. 

  • Klauber becomes HCC's fourth president

    Dr. Jim Klauber began on June 1 as HCC’s fourth president. He comes to HCC from John C. Calhoun State Community College in Alabama, where he had been serving as the president since 2015.

  • HCC supports Financial Literacy Month

    During the month of April, students can complete two free financial counseling sessions online for a chance to win a $50 Go-Green gift card to be used at the HCC Campus Store or the eateries on campus. Students can register online or stop by the registration table on Tuesday, April 17, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., in the Student Center lobby. 

  • Klauber named HCC president

    The Hagerstown Community College Board of Trustees today announced the appointment of Jim Klauber as the president of the college, effective June 1. 

  • HCC students to perform “Dr. Faustus”

    Students from Hagerstown Community College’s Elements of Dramatic Production course will perform Christopher Marlowe’s “Dr. Faustus,” from Thursday, March 22, through Sunday, March 25, in the Kepler Center Blackbox Theater on HCC’s main campus. 

  • HCC literary magazine accepting submissions worldwide

    Hagerstown Community College’s literary magazine, the Hedge Apple, is no longer limited to submissions from HCC students and faculty. Contributors worldwide are encouraged to submit stories, poems, and artwork, as well as video, audio, and mixed media submissions. In addition to being open for general submissions on a rolling basis, submissions are now being accepted for upcoming themed issues.
