  • HCC accepts 53 new members into Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society

    Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), the national honor society at Hagerstown Community College, recently accepted 53 new members. To be eligible for PTK, students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher and must have completed 12 credit hours of college-level work at HCC. 

  • Human trafficking education summit to be held at HCC

    The Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at Hagerstown Community College and the Washington County Human Trafficking Collaborative will offer a free educational summit, “Engaging Against Exploitation,” on Saturday, Jan. 25, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Behavioral Sciences and Humanities Building on HCC’s main campus.

  • HCC Dental Clinic to host Sealant Saturday

    HCC's Dental Hygiene Clinic will host Sealant Saturday on February 1, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., in the Career Programs Building on HCC’s main campus. During the event, students from HCC’s Dental Hygiene Program will provide limited dental exams to children ages six to 16, to determine the need for dental sealants.

  • HCC announces fall 2019 dean’s list

    HCC recently announced its dean’s list for the fall 2019 semester. To qualify for the dean’s list, students must be attending school full-time (12 credits or more of college-level courses, 101 and above) and earn a minimum quality-point average of 3.50 for the most recent semester.

  • HCC to hold annual Martin Luther King Jr. celebration

    HCC will hold its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Diversity Celebration on Monday, Jan. 20, from 1 to 2:30 p.m., in the Kepler Theater at HCC. The celebration will feature keynote speaker Dr. Jason Ottley, race scholar and social justice advocate, and a dramatic rendition of Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” speech, performed by the Reverend Darin Mency.

  • HCC students collect donations for Humane Society of Washington County

    During the month of November, the Leadership Club at Hagerstown Community College collected donations to benefit the Humane Society of Washington County. The club donated 25 pull toys made by HCC students, along with blankets, dog and cat food, cat litter, and other supplies. 

  • Maryland Entertainment Group presents “A Victorian Christmas”

    MEG Theatre presents “A Victorian Christmas” at two venues this holiday season! December 13th and 14th at 8pm & 15th at 2pm at Hagerstown Community College’s Black Box Theater. Enjoy classic and beautifully arranged Christmas carols and dancing, and be sure to laugh wholeheartedly along to holiday jests that are sure to put you into the Christmas spirit! 


  • *CANCELED* NARCAN Training

    In an effort to provide education on how to recognize, respond to, and prevent an opioid overdose, the Washington County Health Department will be hosting monthly Narcan trainings in the Student Center (STC), Room 182. If you are concerned that a loved one is at risk for overdosing on heroin or a prescription pain medication, this training is for you. No RSVP or registration is necessary.
