  • HCC to hold fall student art exhibit in December

    Hagerstown Community College will hold its fall student art exhibit from Monday, Dec. 10, through Friday, Dec. 14, in the Kepler Center on HCC’s main campus. The opening reception will be held on Monday, Dec. 10, from 5 to 7 p.m., followed by HCC choir, jazz, wind, and guitar ensemble performances at 7 p.m. This event is free and the public is invited to attend. 

  • HCC students to perform “An Evening of Dance”

    The event will feature students from HCC’s Dance Company and dance classes. Featured work includes capstone projects from two HCC Dance Program graduates, Katie Myers and Ocoee Chapelle. Guest choreographers include Gabriella DiGiuseppe and Liz Fink-Rakoski, with guest performances from Neshema Dance Company, and Ballet & All that Jazz.

  • HCC awards management certificates

    The Continuing Education and Workforce Development Division at Hagerstown Community College recently awarded the American Management Association Certificate of General and Human Resource Management to four students. Cole Ellsworth, Tyler Hendershot, Kelly Shank, and Mike Hannah, all of Hagerstown, completed the seven-course, 49-hour program at HCC’s Valley Mall Business Training Center. 

  • Several businesses support ACT Work Ready Communities initiative

    A signing ceremony was recently held at Hagerstown Community College to recognize the first five businesses to show support for the county-wide initiative to become a part of ACT Work Ready Communities. Officials at Amcor Flexibles, High Rock Studios, Hub Labels, Jamison Door, and Manpower signed their support in recognition of the importance of using the ACT WorkKeys assessment. 

  • Seats still available in spring portraiture class

    HCC will offer a portraiture class on Thursday afternoons, from 1 to 4:35 p.m., beginning January 10, in the Kepler Center. The spring portraiture class is a three-credit class designed for students with basic drawing skills who wish to broaden their ability to create strong visual images. 

  • HCC to hold holiday dinner and concert on Dec. 7

    Hagerstown Community College’s Student Government Association will hold its annual Holiday Dinner and Concert on Friday Dec. 7, from 6 to 8 p.m., in the Student Center on HCC’s main campus. 

  • Golden ticket to provide $100 towards continuing education course

    The Continuing Education and Workforce Development division at Hagerstown Community College will mail its winter course schedule in November. A handful of local residents will receive a golden ticket inside their schedule. The golden ticket is good for $100 towards a continuing education course this winter at HCC. 

  • Three students in HCC’s radiography program win awards

    In this year’s essay competition, three HCC students won the top awards. Essay winners included Isis Kay, of Frederick, who received first place; Janay Hamilton, of Shippensburg, Pa., who received second place; and Kelle Blubaugh, of Waynesboro, Pa., who received third place.
