  • HCC to host annual Humanities Lecture Series

    HCC will host the annual Humanities Lecture Series on Monday, April 1, beginning at 7 p.m., in the Kepler Black Box Theater. Rev. Dr. Rob Apgar-Taylor, HCC adjunct faculty, will present about the intersecting beliefs of the Christian faith and Buddhism.

  • Free showing of Mary Poppins Returns at HCC

    HCC's Student Government Association will host a free showing of Disney’s film, “Mary Poppins Returns,” on Sunday, March 24, from 2 to 4 p.m., in the Student Center on HCC’s main campus. This event is free and open to the public and tickets are not required. 

  • HCC to host Leadercast Live 2019

    HCC, in partnership with Worx Graphic Design, will host a one-day leadership event, entitled “Leadercast Live 2019,” on Friday, May 10, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the Kepler Theater on HCC’s main campus. The event is broadcasted live annually from Atlanta to hundreds of host sites around the world. Global experts present on one stage to share knowledge and insights from their leadership journeys. 

  • HCC students to perform “proof”

    Students from Hagerstown Community College’s Elements of Dramatic Production course will perform David Auburn’s award-winning drama “proof,” from Friday, March 22, through Sunday, March 24, in the Kepler Center Blackbox Theater on HCC’s main campus. Show times are 8 p.m. on March 22 and 23. A special matinee performance will be held on March 24 at 2:30 p.m.

  • HCC students awarded Chick-fil-A scholarships

    HCC students Nicholas Drier, Siobhan Sungenis, Kalee Boor, and Calista Wolfe were recently awarded academic scholarships through their employment at Chick-fil-A in Hagerstown. The Chick-fil-A Remarkable Futures Leadership Scholarship is worth $2,500 and awarded to restaurant team members, based on academic eligibility and active involvement in the community. 

  • HCC to host art contest and exhibit for substance abuse recovery

    The Behavioral Intervention/Care Team (BIT) at Hagerstown Community College has partnered with the Wells House, Inc. to host an “Artists Journey of Recovery,” art contest and exhibition. Artwork must be submitted by Friday, March 22, and will be on display in the Student Center on HCC’s main campus during the month of April. Winners will be announced on Tuesday, April 9 at 1 p.m., in the Student Center. 

  • HCC’s Children’s Learning Center holds fundraiser

    The Children’s Learning Center at Hagerstown Community College held a special event, “Hearts on Parade,” to raise funds for activities for the children, including field trips, family picnics, a magic show, and the annual petting zoo. Approximately 50 children participated, raising more than $1100 through individual sponsorships. 

  • Steve Cardenas Trio to perform March 24 at HCC

    HCC will host the Steve Cardenas Trio as part of its Kepler Concert Series on Sunday, March 24, at 6:30 p.m., in the Kepler Theater. An integral part of the New York City jazz scene, Cardenas currently leads his own trio featuring bassist Ben Allison and drummer Allan Mednard. 

  • HCC to hold spring open house on March 23

    HCC will hold an open house for prospective students on Saturday, March 23, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., in HCC’s Student Center. The event is free and open to the public. 

  • HCC Dental Clinic to host Sealant Saturday

    HCC's Dental Hygiene Clinic will host Sealant Saturday on March 30, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., in the Career Programs Building on HCC’s main campus. During this free event, students from HCC’s Dental Hygiene Program will provide limited dental exams to children ages six to 16, to determine the need for dental sealants, thin plastic coatings painted in the groves of teeth to prevent tooth decay.
