Supplemental Application for Paramedic to RN Transition Program

Before submitting a supplemental application for a nursing program, you must first apply for admission to HCC.

The application, official transcripts from all colleges attended, and any applicable test scores must be received by the January 15 deadline to be eligible for the program.

Program Facts

The program begins in May. Notification regarding acceptance into the program is mailed in mid March. Admissions requirements: Verification from an employer of two years, full-time employment as a paramedic within the past five years; Must have Maryland State certification as a paramedic and National Board of Registry certification (NREMT); Applicants must be graduates of a program accredited by either the CCAHEP or the Maryland EMS Board; Completion of required prerequisite courses and all general education courses before beginning the program. All nursing applicants (LPN and RN) must complete the nationally-normed test for nursing students known as the Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS).
