Two Hagerstown Community College students were recently nominated as part of the All-USA/Coca-Cola Community College Academic Team, a program that annually recognizes exceptional students at the nation’s community colleges. This year’s HCC nominees are Khanh (Simon) Huynh and Kristin Pryor-Mauck, both of Hagerstown.

Hagerstown Community College’s Student Government Association will hold its annual Holiday Concert on Friday Dec. 9, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., in the Student Center on HCC’s main campus. The concert will feature carols from around the world by professional musician, Mark Rust.
Hagerstown Community College President Dr. Guy Altieri and several local officials, including U.S. Representative John Delaney, spoke during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on October 25, to officially open the new mile-long road that connects Medical Campus Drive and HCC.
The English and Humanities Division at Hagerstown Community College will hold “An Evening of Song and Dance,” on Saturday, Dec. 10, at 7 p.m., in the Kepler Theater. The event will feature students from HCC’s Dance Company and dance classes.
Hagerstown Community College’s Student Government Association will hold a Red Planet Day Celebration on Monday, Nov. 28, from 4:30 to 8 p.m., in the Student Center on HCC’s main campus. The event will include a free showing of Ridley Scott’s action film, “The Martian,” starring Matt Damon. There also will be a star gazing presentation, by the TriState Astronomers, to learn how to use a telescope and read the night sky.
