Employees at Roxbury Correctional Institute donated a $500 scholarship to Hagerstown Community College, in memory of Officer Jeffery Wroten who was killed in the line of duty in 2006, while guarding an inmate at Washington County Hospital.
The SGA serves as the voice of the HCC student body. Each month the SGA president is invited to the HCC board meeting to present updates and issues. Additionally, the officers have their own office and meeting space in the student center on campus.
Hagerstown Community College’s College Advancement and Financial Aid offices are now accepting applications for the HCC Foundation Scholarship. The deadline for the spring semester is Friday, December 1, at 4 p.m. Spring classes begin on January 8.
The Continuing Education and Workforce Development division at Hagerstown Community College will mail its winter course schedule in November. A handful of local residents will receive a golden ticket inside their schedule. The golden ticket is good for $100 towards a continuing education course this winter at HCC.
Program information sessions for the STEMM (science, technology, engineering, math, medical) Technical Middle College at Hagerstown Community College will be held on Wednesdays, Nov. 8 and Dec. 6, at 4 p.m., in the Learning Resource Center, room 254.
(October 31, 2017)— Four Hagerstown Community College students recently won awards during the Maryland Society of Radiologic Technologists Student Essay Competition and Ted Lynch Award recognition.
The Continuing Education and Workforce Development Division at Hagerstown Community College is offering a day trip on Saturday, November 18, to New York City to see Radio City Music Hall's Christmas Spectacular, featuring the Rockettes.
The Children's Learning Center on campus is now accepting registration for the fall. There are limited openings for children, ages two through five.
The Children’s Learning Center at Hagerstown Community College held its annual Fall Fest on October 13. Teachers planned a variety of outdoor activities that included an obstacle course, crafts, bean bag toss, a campus “pumpkin patch,” and other games.
Dr. Guy Altieri, president of Hagerstown Community College, has announced his retirement after a more than 45-year career in higher education, effective December 31, 2017. He has been president of HCC for 16 years.
Open Mic Night will be held in the Student Center Main Dining Hall. Students are invited to perform poetry, spoken word, music, or comedy. Clean language is required.
