  • HCC sociology class held fundraiser

    Students in Professor Daniel Madron’s civic engagement class at Hagerstown Community College recently held a fundraising event to benefit CASA, Inc., as part of a class project. A total of $2,444 was raised from registration fees and personal donations. 

  • HCC’s Business Club attends etiquette dinner

    Students from the Business Club at Hagerstown Community College recently attended an etiquette dinner hosted by Diane Cookson, of Manners for Life, Etiquette for Success, at the Fountain Head County Club. 

  • HCC to offer accelerated EMT course this summer

    Hagerstown Community College is offering an accelerated Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course this summer. The course will allow each student to become a National Registry-Certified EMT in 15 weeks. Classes begin on May 9 and are held on Tuesdays and Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

  • HCC’s Day signs with University of Maryland Eastern Shore

    Kendra Day, a South Hagerstown High School graduate and student at Hagerstown Community College, recently signed a letter of intent to continue her collegiate volleyball career at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, while pursuing a major in fashion merchandising. 

  • HCC now accepting Promise Program applications

    Applications are now being accepted for the new Promise Pathway Program at Hagerstown Community College, for admission in the fall of 2017. Similar to other promise programs across the country, this initiative is designed to address the financial barriers for high school students who have the academic readiness and commitment to succeed in college, but lack all the necessary financial resources to do so, even if they qualify for federal financial aid. 

  • HCC Student Gets Cooke Foundation Transfer Scholarship

    Khanh Huynh, a student at Hagerstown Community College, has been awarded the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship, worth up to $40,000 a year, to complete a bachelor’s degree at a four-year college or university. 

  • HCC to offer seminar for dental professionals

    The Continuing Education and Workforce Development Division at Hagerstown Community College will offer a seminar for dental professionals on Friday, May 5. The seminar will be taught by Nelson L. Rhodus, DMD, MPH, FACD, FICD, professor and director of the Division of Oral Medicine at the University of Minnesota. 

  • HCC to hold student art exhibit in April

    Hagerstown Community College will hold its spring student art exhibit from Monday, April 24, through Sunday, April 30, in the Kepler Center on HCC’s main campus. The opening reception will be held on Tuesday, April 25, from 5 to 7 p.m. The jazz ensemble will perform in the Black Box Theater at 7 p.m.

  • HCC to hold emergency assessment scenario on April 29

    Hagerstown Community College will conduct its annual Critical Response Emergency Assessment Scenario (CREAS) training event on Saturday, April 29, beginning at 9 a.m., on HCC’s main campus. The event is closed to the public, but the community should be aware that multiple area emergency response vehicles will be on campus as part of the training.

  • Spring Break 2018 - No Classes Held

    Spring Break will be held for faculty and students from March 4 through March 10, 2018. No classes will be held during that time.

    Administrative offices will remain open from March 5 through March 8 of that week, but will close for staff spring break on March 9. The entire campus will be closed on March 9, 2018.

  • Business Club Meeting

    HCC's Business Club will meet in the Student Center, room 141. The topic will be "Annual Visit to the Technical Innovation Center." The presenters will be a panel of the current TIC tenants facilitated by Janice Riley, Manager of the TIC at HCC.

  • Business Club Trip to Annapolis

    HCC's Business Club will hold its annual trip to Annapolis on Friday, April 13, with meetings scheduled with the Maryland Chamber of Commerce; Leadership Maryland; and Senator Edward Riley, Vice-Chair, Finance Committee of Maryland State Government. The trip will also include a walking tour of Annapolis and a possible meeting with Governor Larry Hogan.
