Hagerstown Community College will conduct its annual Critical Response Emergency Assessment Scenario (CREAS) training event on Saturday, April 29, beginning at 9 a.m., on HCC’s main campus. The event is closed to the public, but the community should be aware that multiple area emergency response vehicles will be on campus as part of the training.

Hagerstown Community College’s Robinwood Players will perform Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s rock opera “Jesus Christ Superstar: 2017 A.D.,” on April 21, 22, and 23, in the Kepler Theater on HCC’s main campus.
Hagerstown Community College’s Student Financial Aid Office is currently accepting applications for the S-STEM scholarships, available for qualifying full-time students majoring in STEM programs at HCC during the 2017-2018 academic year. The early decision deadline is Monday, May 1 and the deadline for the fall semester is Tuesday, August 1.
Hagerstown Community College students Joshua Whipp, Marquita Davis, and Samuel Biggus, all of Hagerstown, were recently awarded scholarships from the Maryland Law Enforcement Officers organization. Maryland Law Enforcement Officers is a professional non-profit organization headquartered in Baltimore. The scholarship was established for Maryland students in good academic standing who are planning a career in law enforcement and have financial need.
Hagerstown Community College invites its students to attend an open discussion panel about the opioid and heroin epidemic on Thursday, April 13, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the Kepler Theater.
Hagerstown Community College’s College Advancement and Financial Aid offices are now accepting applications for the HCC Foundation Scholarship. The deadline for the 2017-18 academic year is Thursday, June 1, at 4 p.m.
HCC’s chapter was recognized for receiving the third highest score in the region on the College Project, which included several activities that HCC’s PTK students conducted during the week of HCC’s 70th anniversary. The chapter continued to maintain its five-star designation and earned 18 free graduation stoles through the new Reach Rewards Program.
Faculty from HCC’s engineering program will provide information about exciting career opportunities in the engineering industry. The event will feature guest speaker, Stefan Eshleman, senior design engineer for JLG Industries, Inc. There will be a showing of Greg MacGillivray’s documentary, “Dream Big: Engineering our World.”
The Athletic Department at Hagerstown Community College will offer a women’s soccer team starting this fall on campus. The team will play under the direction of Coach Clifton Williams who was named HCC’s first head women’s soccer coach in February 2017.
