  • HCC: Raising the Bar on Academic Support

    Perched atop the hill on Student Circle at Hagerstown Community College is the Learning Support Center (LSC), an unassuming, one-story building that belies the hum of activity within its walls. Upon entering the LSC, one is greeted with a vast openness that includes more than 18,600 square feet of learning space filled with students, tutors, and LSC staff.

  • HCC students headed to NASA workshop

    (Release: October 30, 2014) – Four students from Hagerstown Community College have been selected to participate in the National Community College Aerospace Scholars (NCAS) onsite workshop at the NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, in November. These students are part of a group of 40 students from the U.S.

  • HCC-WCPS STEM Fair - April 11, 2015

    HCC is partnering with Washington County Public Schools to offer a STEM Fair in April 2015. HCC held its first STEM Fair in April 2012 to coincide with the opening of the new STEM Building and the Kepler Theater expansion. The 2015 STEM Fair will be held on Saturday, April 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and will once again feature exhibits and activities for children in K-12.

  • Student Events on Campus - Oct. 20-25

    During the week of October 20-25, a variety of events will be held on the HCC campus for students. All events are free and open to current students.

  • HCC receives district award for website

    (Release: October 15, 2014) – Hagerstown Community College recently received the NCMPR District 1 Gold Medallion Award in the website category. The National Council for Marketing and Public Relations is the leading professional development organization exclusively serving marketing and public relations professionals at two-year colleges.

  • Preparing for Middle States

    Dr. Peter Mora, president, Atlantic Cape Community College and the Middle States team chair, visited the HCC campus for a preliminary visit on Oct. 13-14, 2014. While at HCC, Mora toured the campus, met with staff and faculty to discuss the Middle States process, and sat in a Unit Planning meeting. Dr. Mora will return with the Middle States team in April 2015.

  • Special Saturday Registration Hours - Jan. 10

    On Saturday, Jan. 10, various campus offices in the Administration and Student Affairs (ASA) Building will be open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to help students register for the upcoming spring semester, which starts on Monday, Jan. 12, 2015.

  • CREAS Mock Trauma Training Event

    The Annual CREAS Mock Trauma Event for graduating students in the nursing and health sciences programs will be held on April 18, 2015, beginning at 8 a.m. This event is for students and faculty only and is not open to the public.   • Athletic Boosters Corn Hole Tournament

    The HCC Athletic Boosters will hold a Corn Hole Tournament on April 25 in the ARCC. Proceeds benefit HCC scholarships. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. and the tournament begins at 12 p.m. Price is $50 per team (includes two beer tickets). Double elimination tournament with cash prizes. Concessions will be available for purchase.
