Roads to Careers Program
Roads to Careers Program
Through the Maryland Department of Labor HCC is now offering funding assistance through Maryland’s Road to Careers Program under the Construction Trades Opportunities and On-the-Job Learning Support (CTOOLS) Program. Maryland’s Road to Careers Program is a skills training and supportive service initiative that seeks to address Maryland’s workforce needs in highway and capital transit construction and transportation construction generally. CTOOLS will target occupations that are in critical demand, including Construction Equipment Operators (skid loaders, graders, excavators, and backhoes), Heavy Equipment and Tractor-Trailer Truck Drivers, Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, Carpentry, Forklift Operators, and Production Technicians.
Grant funding under Maryland’s Road to Careers Program is available for qualified applicants. Funding is offered throughout the year and can be applied towards various career program options. Funding can be used to offset out of pocket educational related expenses such as tuition, transportation, childcare access, equipment necessary for employment, and other possible areas identified as potential barriers.
