Registration for Classes

Online Registration

HCC conducts online registration via Self-Service. All new students are required to meet with an retention specialist for their first semester before registering online. Current students are encouraged to contact their Faculty Advisor for help selecting their courses. New students will receive login credentials in their admissions letter. Self-Service Video Tutorials are available to help you navigate Self-Service.

Non-Credit Classes

Registration for non-credit classes is done through WebAdvisor. You do not need to register for an account to search for classes.

Retention and Registration Office Hours:

Appointment times are offered Monday-Thursday 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. and walk-in times are Friday 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. We are located in the Student Center Suite 110.

  • Students are invited to make phone, Zoom or face to face appointments by calling 240-500-2240.
  • If you arrive more than 15 minutes past your scheduled time, you may be asked to reschedule.
  • At this time, only the student is allowed in the office with the Retention Specialist. If parents or others would like to be included, a phone or Zoom appointment should be made.
  • For all phone and Zoom appointments, you must be in front of a device, and able to log in to Self-Service. If you are driving and unable to fully participate during your appointment, your Retention Specialist may ask you to reschedule.
  • If you choose to come in on Fridays as a walk-in, you may experience longer wait times depending on need and availability of staff.

High School Students

High school students who wish to take courses in the ESSENCE Early College Program must schedule an appointment to register by calling 240-500-2238. ESSENCE students cannot register online.
