Social Security Tuition Waiver

Social Security Tuition Waiver

If you change your schedule, at any point, you MUST notify the Student Financial Aid Office as your waiver amount may need to be revised.

  • This form is for students who are requesting a waiver of tuition charges based on receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI).
  • You must submit a new waiver request for each semester – the deadline dates are:
    • Fall – September 15
    • Spring – February 15
    • Summer – June 15
  • Also, you must attach proof that you are receiving benefits for the current semester – if you do not provide proof of benefits or submit this form by the deadline date, your request for the waiver will be denied. You will have to wait until the next semester to submit a new request.
  • Once the form is submitted, it will be reviewed within 7-10 business days.
  • If approved and enrolled in a degree-seeking program, you will receive a waiver for tuition charges, up to 12 credits per semester, after any grants and scholarships are applied to your account. If you are not enrolled in a degree program or enrolled in a Letter of Recognition program, the waiver will only cover up to 6 credits. All remaining course fees and books/supplies are your responsibility.
  • Individuals receiving SSI or SSDI benefits as a dependent or survivor of a disabled beneficiary do not qualify for this waiver.
  • Note: If the form is not submitted by the semester date above, your current tuition rate would stay the same for the entire semester. For example, if the form for fall is submitted after September 15, you would not be potentially eligible for the waiver until the spring semester.
