HCC conducts athletic facilities survey
Hagerstown Community College is reviewing its athletic facilities after receiving state funding last year to conduct a study.
The Maryland Stadium Authority is conducting a comprehensive review and is currently in the planning and survey phase.
A primary objective of the survey is to identify what improvements and/or new facilities are needed at HCC to better accommodate the athletic and recreational needs of students, athletes, faculty, staff, and community members.
Existing athletic facilities at HCC include the Athletic, Recreation and Community Center (ARCC), a baseball field, softball field, soccer field, outdoor track, and tennis courts. The ARCC has not had significant updates since it was built in 1989, aside from air conditioning. The outdoor fields are also aging and in need of improvements.
County officials are encouraging the community to provide feedback to help shape future improvements.
