HCC will host a Business Instructor Showcase in the newly opened D.M. Bowman Workforce Training Center at 562 Northern Avenue in Hagerstown on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

The event will feature a dynamic showcase spotlighting local instructors who specialize in leadership, management, and essential soft skills. Attendees will experience live mini sessions packed with practical takeaways, real-world insights, and interactive learning. Whether an employer, HR professional, or training coordinator seeking effective, people-focused development solutions, this event offers fresh ideas and powerful people-centered strategies to elevate the workplace and beyond.

8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. Session 1 - Utilizing Communication & Emotional Intelligence in Leadership
This course equips business leaders with practical tools to enhance & improve their communication, self-awareness, management of emotions, ability to build stronger relationships, and lead with empathy. Learn how to foster trust, improve team performance, and navigate complex challenges with emotional insight and confidence in communication.
9:05 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Session 2 - QuikDiSC Strategic Communication for High Performing Teams
A fast-paced, hands-on session where attendees discover their unique behavioral style through the QuikDiSC® card game. Uncover how natural tendencies shape the way we communicate, lead, and collaborate with others. With a focus on fun and self-awareness, this session provides tools to reduce conflict and build stronger, more effective working relationships. Walk away with insights that can immediately be used to boost teamwork and personal impact.
9:35 a.m. to 10 a.m. Session 3 - Leadership in the Battlefield
Through storytelling, historical context, and guided reflection, explore how leaders responded to pressure, adapted to changing conditions, and influenced outcomes—parallels that translate directly into how we lead teams, make decisions, and build resilience today. This interactive session offers a glimpse into the full-day battlefield experience and leaves participants with practical, memorable takeaways on strategy, communication, and leadership under fire.
10:05 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Session 4 - From D-grunts and Gomos to Exceptional Want-to-be-Here team!
This session will actively engage participants in learning ways to lead and inspire teams to greater engagement and performance. The strategy is simple: Leaders should Model the behavior they want to see, Connect with the people they lead and Involve the team as much as possible.
