Religious Accommodation
Interfaith Prayer and Meditation Room (LRC-257) is open to HCC students and employees during normal business hours, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This designated space for quiet prayer, meditation, or contemplation supports faith-based and religious practices while preserving equal access for all members of the campus community. Users should maintain a peaceful, respectful, and reverent environment that is considerate of all faiths, traditions, and individuals. Noise should be kept to a minimum, with no general conversations, mobile phone use, food, or beverages permitted. Personal items brought for worship or meditation must be taken when leaving.
Students requiring a religious academic accommodation should work with their faculty in advance of the specific date conflict; in most situations, further assistance will not be needed. Students experiencing a conflict between academic requirements and religious practices may also use the Student Religious Accommodations Request Form to receive assistance from the Dean of Students.
