Summer 2026 Financial Aid Information

Financial aid packaging for Summer 2026 is now underway. Enrollment reports are reviewed and processed weekly.

You do not need to contact the Student Financial Aid Office to request summer aid unless you previously declined financial aid in a prior semester

Important FAFSA Information

Which FAFSA Should You Complete?

  • Most Students (Summer 2026): Complete the 2025–2026 FAFSA if you have not already done so.
  • Truck Driving Program (July Start): Complete the 2026–2027 FAFSA, as aid for this program is awarded in the next academic year.
  • High School Seniors (Graduating in June): You should complete the 2025-2026 FAFSA and submit a copy of your diploma to be considered for summer financial aid.
     

Eligibility Requirements

  • You must be registered for summer classes.
  • Have a valid 2025-2026 FAFSA completed.
  • No outstanding paperwork needed.
  • Make Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) after the spring semester.
     

Types of Summer Financial Aid

Pell Grant

  • Eligible students may receive up to 150% of their scheduled award (Year-Round Pell).
  • Available for any level of enrollment above 0 credits; the half-time (6 credit) is no longer a requirement for summer Pell.
  • The amount of your Pell Grant will be based on your total enrolled credits for the semester.
     

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)

  • Awarded based on financial need and available funding.
     

Maryland Part-Time Grant

  • Available to Maryland residents enrolled in 6–11 credits.
  • Requires demonstrated financial need and is subject to funding availability.
     

Federal Student Loans

  • Must be enrolled in at least 6 credits.
  • If you previously borrowed, your offer will reflect remaining eligibility.
  • Independent students, or dependent students whose parents were denied a Parent PLUS loan, may receive up to $4,000 in additional unsubsidized loans (no request form needed).
  • Students with 30+ credits (second-year status), may qualify for an additional $1,000.
     

Managing Your Financial Aid
