Diesel Technician Training Scholarships

The Diesel Technician program provides you with 200 hours of training and the entry-level skills required to start a career as a diesel mechanic performing vehicle repair and maintenance. The program covers the theory and general knowledge needed to support diesel powered vehicles, including commercial trucks and construction equipment. Lab activities focus on hands-on development of practical preventative maintenance skills and procedures in a mechanical shop. The students will become proficient in preventative maintenance and inspections by performing procedures in electrical, brakes, lubrication, hub seals, and diagnostics equipment. The program helps to prepare you for various ASE certifications. 

Applicants must complete the following: 

  • Complete the scholarship application
  • Upload ALL required documentation
  • Applicants MUST complete the WorkKeys Assessment prior to registering for courses
     

Details about the scholarship process:

  • Documentation can be securely uploaded through the application link
  • Scholarships take approximately two weeks for approval
  • Scholarships may cover all or part of the program cost

The Maryland Governor’s Emergency Education Relief (GEER) Fund initiative is to expand workforce development courses and continue professional education that leads to industry certification or licensure, particularly focused on individuals impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic through loss of employment.
