ECAP Taking Classes at HCC or Online

Eligibility Requirements

To participate in the Early College Access Program, a student must be at least 16 years old. In addition, the student must have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or higher or meet a college and career readiness standard set by the state of Maryland.

Students whose cumulative GPA falls between 2.5 and 2.99 are required to take a placement test to determine eligibility. Students with a GPA below 2.5 are not eligible to take classes on campus or online through the ECAP program.

Steps to Enroll

  1. Apply for admission online
  2. Submit high school transcripts and any applicable college and career readiness documentation to the Office of Admissions and Enrollment Management.
  3. For students with a GPA below 3.0 to 2.5, you must take HCC placement tests. Learn more about placement testing or view web-based tutorials on the Testing Center page.
  4. Complete the Early College Access Form.
  5. Students must register for classes with an academic advisor. ECAP students can’t register online. For more information, visit www.hagerstowncc.edu/advising.
  6. Get a parking permit, student ID card, and textbooks
