ECAP Taking Classes at HCC or Online
Eligibility Requirements
To participate in the Early College Access Program, a student must be at least 16 years old. In addition, the student must have a cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 or higher or meet a college and career readiness standard set by the state of Maryland.
Students whose cumulative GPA falls between 2.5 and 2.99 are required to take a placement test to determine eligibility. Students with a GPA below 2.5 are not eligible to take classes on campus or online through the ECAP program.
Steps to Enroll
- Apply for admission online
- Submit high school transcripts and any applicable college and career readiness documentation to the Office of Admissions and Enrollment Management.
- For students with a GPA below 3.0 to 2.5, you must take HCC placement tests. Learn more about placement testing or view web-based tutorials on the Testing Center page.
- Complete the Early College Access Form.
- Students must register for classes with an academic advisor. ECAP students can’t register online. For more information, visit www.hagerstowncc.edu/advising.
- Get a parking permit, student ID card, and textbooks
