Amanda Chestnut hired as HCC adjunct dance instructor

Amanda Chestnut has been hired as an adjunct dance instructor at Hagerstown Community College. In this position, she will be teaching ballet, modern dance, and dance history.

Chestnut is the owner of Dance Academy XIV and holds a bachelor’s degree in dance and religious studies from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College in Lynchburg, Va. In 2010, she was accepted into Equinox Dance Company in Frederick, Md., where she danced as a member of the company one year and as a guest artist in 2012. She is a certified gymnastics instructor through USA Gymnastics and a member of the National Dance Education Organization. She is also on faculty at the Chambersburg Ballet Theater where she instructs jazz, and a certified Progressing Ballet Technique instructor. She is currently pursuing an MFA degree in choreography at Wilson College.
