HCC to host MD MOTORS program
Workforce Solutions and Continuing Education at Hagerstown Community College is hosting Maryland MOTORS (Motor Officers Teaching Other Riders Safety) Rider Safety program at the D.M. Bowman Family Workforce Training Center on Fridays, beginning May 1.
Maryland MOTORS is a free, one-day safety course that includes a classroom session, a mentored street ride with motorcycle officers, and low speed practice of necessary riding skills on a closed range at HCC’s Bowman Training Center, located at 562 Northern Avenue in Hagerstown. The program is operated by Maryland state and local law enforcement agencies through Zero Deaths Maryland Highway Safety Office to provide hands-on education for motorcyclists of all experience levels, ensuring safety out on the roads. The program is a part of the Maryland Department of Transportation’s “Serious About Safety” initiative.
“HCC has helped thousands of riders develop skills and obtain their license through the MVA’s Motorcycle Safety program,” according to Jack Drooger, senior program manager for workforce solutions. “This is an opportunity to give back to the motorcycle community and create safer roads for all motorists.”
Free registration is available online. To learn more and register, visit the Zero Deaths Maryland website. Call 240-500-2236 or email ceregister@hagerstowncc.edu with questions.
