HCC to host Spark! Tank pitch competition
The Incubators + Labs at Hagerstown Community College will host a Spark! Tank pitch competition on Tuesday, November 18, from 5:30 to 8:45 p.m. at the Behavioral Sciences and Humanities (BSH) building at HCC. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the event will begin at 6 p.m.
The competition will give contenders five minutes to pitch their innovative product, service, app, or technology project at the event. There will be one grand prize of $5,000 for the overall winner, and four mini prizes of $1,000 for winner categories of “most innovative,” “audience choice,” “runner up,” and “community impact.”
“Through Spark! Tank, we’re not just supporting entrepreneurs, we’re helping to build the foundation for local economic growth,” said Maureen Kolb, director of the Incubators + Labs at HCC. “When small businesses thrive, our entire community benefits, and events like this are a key part of that momentum.”
The David W. Fletcher Incubator + Labs and the Culinary Incubator are centers dedicated to supporting local entrepreneurs and small businesses by providing various resources and services designed to help them grow and succeed. Services include mentorship, training, office space, commercial kitchen space, networking opportunities, and business development resources.
