HCC students hold food drive to benefit peers

(November 20, 2020)— Students from Hagerstown Community College’s Phi Theta Kappa Chapter and Student Government Association (SGA) recently held a two-day food drive to benefit peers in need.

More than 930 food items were donated from college students, employees, alumni, and community members, as well as $340 donated by individuals and $1,000 from HCC’s Alumni Association. Thirty six students who were identified as being food insecure will benefit from the food drive. Each student will receive two bags of non-perishable food, a bag of apples, a loaf of bread, a jug of apple juice, and a $25 grocery store gift card.
