A faculty member (credit) or Program Manager (non-credit) may recommend a student for dismissal from the academic program when, in the faculty member’s or program manager’s professional judgment, the student has failed to meet the academic, professional, ethical, or behavioral standards of the academic program. Grounds for such a recommendation may include, but are not limited to:

• Failure to meet minimum academic performance requirements
• Repeated or serious violations of program or institutional policies
• Failure to demonstrate required professional Competencies
   

This process outlines procedures a faculty member (credit) or Program Manager (noncredit) student shall follow when they determine that academic program dismissal may be warranted.

The process begins with a written dismissal recommendation and ends with a final decision by the Vice-President for Academic Affairs and Student Services.
