Schoenenberger appointed interim vice president at HCC

Dawn Schoenenberger has been named to serve as interim vice president of academic affairs and student services at Hagerstown Community College, effective July 1, following the retirement of current Vice President David Warner.

The vice president for academic affairs and student services reports to the college president and is the chief instructional and student services officer of the college. The position is responsible for the supervision, operation, evaluation, and planning of the credit bearing academic programs, personnel, and all academic and student support services.

Schoenenberger has been serving as the director of developmental education and the program of adult literacy services at HCC since 2008. She began at HCC in 2004 as an instructional assistant and was later appointed the coordinator of testing and tutoring. She also serves as an adjunct faculty member. She holds an associate degree from Pierce College, a bachelor's degree from Pacific Lutheran University, and a master's degree from Capella University.

Warner has worked at HCC for nearly 30 years, having served in a variety of roles, including faculty, division chair, director of instruction, and vice president, a position he has held since 2011.

Following Warner’s retirement, Schoenenberger will serve as the interim vice president until a replacement is named.
