Through the Washington County Health Department, 240-313-3200 or wash.health@maryland.gov, students may also receive information and formal counseling for birth control.
The Washington County Health Department provides regular tabling on campus, offering educational materials and, occasionally, free sexual health resources (including contraception). The Campus Student Pantry, located in the Student Activities Office in the Student Center, also provides contraception when available through unsolicited community donations.
Compliance to meet the provision of all-types of available over-the-counter contraception, per Maryland state law, is reviewed annually by the Dean of Students and in consultation with students. Access to this information is shared on an ongoing basis to all students via the HCC website, the Student Handbook, and semesterly compliance related emails. Per state law, HCC ensures contraception products and resources remain easily accessible and affordable to students seeking such items while on our commuter campus.
Students with questions or suggestions are referred to the Dean of Students, via 240-5002526, studentaffairs@hagerstowncc.edu or by visiting Student Center room 142 during office hours.
