The Food Services Department consists of  the Hilltop Grill, and Food for Thought catering service. All food service locations are open to students, faculty, staff and the general public. Suggestions and comments are always welcome.

Hilltop Grill

The Hilltop Grill is located in the newly renovated Student Center. The Grill features a full grill, salad bar, beverages and snacks. To learn more about the Student Center Expansion Project, visit

Hawk Cafe

The Hawk Cafe is located in the newly renovated Student Center and features a full coffee and latte bar, assorted desserts, and finger foods. To learn more about the Student Center Expansion Project, visit

Vending Machines

Snack and cold vending machines on campus are overseen by the HCC Food Service Department. Vending machines are conveniently located in most buildings, including the Student Center. If you encounter problems with a machine, please call 240-500-2345.

Food for Thought Catering

Food for Thought, HCC’s in-house catering service, services special events for internal and external groups using campus facilities. Food for Thought offers everything from coffee service to boxed lunches to fully catered buffets. All requests for catering service must be made at least 14 business days prior to an event. Food for Thought must be consulted and given the right of first refusal, before an outside caterer may be used. Call 240-500-2345 for further information.

Courtside Cafe

The Courtside Café is located in the ARCC Lobby and is run by HCC Dining Services. The Courtside Café is open for athletic events, special events held on campus and offers sandwiches and light fare items. For any questions please contact HCC Dining Services at 240-500-2345.

Please be advised that HCC’s Food Services Department prepares foods in commercial kitchens where cross-contact with common food allergens (such as gluten, diary, eggs, soy, nuts, or shellfish) and other foods (including pork) is possible and where ingredient substitutions and recipe revisions are sometimes made.

In addition, manufacturers of commercial foods we use may change their product formulation or consistency of ingredients at any time without notice. Accordingly, actual ingredients and nutritional content may vary and we cannot guarantee that any food item or our food preparation areas are free of cross-contact or meet standards of specific dietary practices.
