Student Center

The Student Center is the focal point of student life on campus. This building, open 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. and ALL OFFICES close at 6 p.m., offers space for students to dine between classes, meet with their peers, relax, recharge, and engage in student activities. In addition to the campus’s ATM, covered deck and patio with ample seating, the following departments/offices are located here:

Career Program Achievers

Career Program Achievers is located in rooms 111 and 113, to the right of the lobby in the Academic Advising and Registration suite. The office is open Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. (limited services between 8:30am-10:30am) and Tuesday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Disability Support Services

Disability Support Services is located in rooms 114 and 115, to the right of the lobby. The office is open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Fridays 8:30am – 4:30pm and Thursdays 8:30am – 6:30pm.

Information Desk

Information Center is open Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Internship and Job Services Office

The Internship and Job Services Office is located in STC 138. Office hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Students are encouraged to schedule individual appointments with the Coordinator via e-mail to

Retention and Registration

Retention and Registration, formerly known as Academic Advising, is located in rooms 116 - 120, to the right of the Student Center lobby. The office is open Monday 8:30 a.m. – 6 p.m. for walk-ins; Tuesday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., by appointment only and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 appointment only. Student Activities Office (IDs & Parking Passes)

The Student Activities Office oversees all student activities and organizations including the Student Government Association. The office also issues HCC ID cards and parking permits. HCC’s student food pantry, open to all students regardless of income, is also part of Student Activities. The office is located in room 163, and is open Monday-Thursday: 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The food pantry is also accessible through room 171.

Student Affairs Office

The Student Affairs Office houses the Dean of Students and her executive assistant. The Dean's office is located in Room 142, to the left of the lobby. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.

TRiO Student Support Services

TRiO Student Support Services (TRiO SSS) is designed to help students who are low-income, are a first-generation student, or have a disability. The TRiO SSS office is located in room 131 of the Student Center, to the left of the lobby. Office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Monday and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Tuesday through Friday. Campus Store (Bookstore)

The Campus Store is located in room 148, across from the Hilltop Grill. The Campus Store is a one-stop shop for students to purchase books, supplies, apparel, backpacks, devices, and more. Campus gear is available for men, women, and children from top brands like Under Armor, Jan Sport, and Champion USA. The Campus Store now features a Tech Bar for customers to preview and purchase laptops/tablets.

Food Services

The Student Center’s in-house eatery, The Hilltop Grill, is open Monday through Thursday, from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Friday, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Hawk Cafe features a full coffee and latte bar, and also serves assorted desserts and finger foods. It is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m to 8:30 p.m, and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Vending machines are available in the Learning Resource Center, on the first floor, and include assorted snacks and drinks, a coffee/hot chocolate machine, and a cold vending machine that features pre-made sandwiches, wraps, and other items. Three of the four machines accept credit cards. (Please note that there is a 10-cent transaction fee to use a credit card.) A lounge area is available in the former Campus Store space to the right of the lobby.

Full-service dining, including made-to-order sandwiches and wraps, a full-service salad bar, pizza, and specialty entrees, is available in the Valley Eatery, located in the Career Programs Building. For hours and menu information, visit

Game Room & Student Lounge

The Student Game Room, located in room 160, features a large screen TVs with gaming ports, gaming computers, and cushion seating. Board games are also available to play. The Student Lounge is located beside the main dining area and has a ping pong table and cushioned seating.

Student Center Reservations

The Student Center has nine areas that can be reserved for events, including five meeting rooms and four open areas. Reserve space online for events using the Student Center Room/Space Request Form.
